For this challenge you will ruck 5 miles in a one-mile loop, one mile for each word in the phrase, “I love you. I know.” Each mile needs to be completed faster than the previous mile, always returning to the start (I’ll be back).*

In The Empire Strikes Back, the script originally had Han and Leia kiss, and then she says, "I love you. I couldn’t tell you before, but it’s true.” Han replies, "Just remember that, ‘cause I’ll be back.” Harrison Ford didn’t think the phrase fit and told the director, Irvin Kershner, he wanted to change it to “I love you. I know.”
Kershner reluctantly agreed, as he thought the phrase “I’ll be back” would be paramount to ending the scene with Han being encased in carbonite.
Little did he know his beloved line would later become famous through another iconic action move.*
For this challenge you will ruck 5 miles in a one-mile loop, one mile for each word in the phrase, “I love you. I know.” Each mile needs to be completed faster than the previous mile, always returning to the start (I’ll be back).
The choice is yours. If you're new, start with a lower weight, like 5 to 10 pounds.
Ruck 1 mile a day until you reach 5 miles - try to be faster each time.
Complete all 5 miles at once - try to beat your best personal time on the last mile.
Make the monthly challenge even more enjoyable by doing it together, as a group or club! It's always more fun when you're sharing the experience with others.

Upon registration, you consent to receiving emails about this and other Monthly Ruck Challenges. Rest assured, we won't trade or sell your email or send you spam mail - that's not our style. You can opt-out from this mailing list whenever you like. Subscription fees of $10 for the Monthly Rucking Challenge will be automatically renewed every month, aligned with your sign-up date. Should you decide to, you're free to terminate your subscription at any point (refer to the FAQ section for more information).
