RUCKMAS 2020

Ruckmas 2020

"Save and change lives"

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
We made the difficult decision to move our originally scheduled Ruckmas event on December 5, 2020 to virtual due to the recent governor mandates and rising COVID cases in Utah. The great news is you can still earn your patch throughout the month of December and anyone can now participate across the country! This event will still benefit the YCC Family Crisis Center! Get signed up now below as spots are limited! Thanks for your support as we continue to navigate these challenging times!

The Charity

The mission of YCC Family Crisis Center “saves and changes lives” by working to prevent and alleviate domestic violence, sexual assault and rape by providing safety, services and resources.

YCC Family Crisis Center is a non-profit organization incorporated to enhance the safety of women, children and men by providing crisis intervention and advocacy services to reduce and prevent the occurrence of family violence and sexual assault through education and community awareness.

Their programs support and enhance the quality of life for all individuals and families by providing advocacy and education to find hope on the road to self-sufficiency. They serve individuals of all ages. Their domestic violence and sexual assault victim assistance centers provide service 24/7 to victims and their children.

Let's join them in their efforts to make Utah not only the best place to raise a family, but the safest. Separately we can do many good things — together we can make miracles happen!

The Event

The holidays should be a wonderful time of year for all. Unfortunately, some fall on hard times and are unable to provide for themselves or their family. True North Endurance and Events focuses on giving back all year long and the holidays are no exception.

So what is Ruckmas? Rucking is walking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack). Think of it as our version of wearing a ruck/pack on your back, filling it full of goodies and delivering them to others in need! There is no minimum weight required in your ruck/pack. We will be partnering with The YCC Family Crisis Center to donate items in need.

We will meet at 9:00 AM at Lorin Farr Park (769 Canyon Road, Ogden, UT), gather all of the items collected and "ruck" them to be donated at The YCC Family Crisis Center (2261 Adams Ave, Ogden, UT). Wagons are welcome to help carry donations!

There will be hot cocoa, donuts and all the holiday carols you can think of so start warming up your caroling voice! This is a family friendly event so we will keep the rucking/walking distance to a minimum (fewer than 3 miles round trip).
